Foscarini
Tartan Collection

Design by Ludovica & Roberto Palomba

Tartan by Foscarini - Elegance according to pattern: That geometric shapes can be very emotional is rather surprising, but true. This is proven by the Foscarini Tartan ceiling and pendant lights with their fine relief, which follows geometric rules and transports emotions. Inspired by the tartan that gives it its name, i.e. the woven pattern of typical Scottish fabrics, the lights have a fine checkered relief that adorns the lampshade in a slightly raised manner. Like a modern lantern, the Foscarini Tartan emits a warm, even light and impresses with its unusual pattern, which fits perfectly into both a modern and classic interior.

The unique lampshade of the Tartan collection is made of hand-blown glass that is acid-etched with a relief pattern that is both understated and distinctive. The glass scatters the light evenly, with the relief creating a very subtle play of light and shadow that almost subtly gives the room its special character.

Ludovica and Roberto Palomba designed the 2015 tartan for Foscarini. The lights radiate elegance when they are switched off; when they are switched on, the focus is only on warm light. This concept also underscores the choice of colors by the designers, with the white shade allowing the relief to appear only slightly.
