Folio by Foscarini is a collection of simple wall and ceiling lamps that adapt to any interior thanks to their timeless design and brighten their surroundings with diffuse and reflected light.
The light fixtures were developped by the Foscarini founders Carlo Urbinati and Allessandro Vecchiato already during the company's first years in 1990 and because of their simple design have established themselves as fixed component of the Foscarini portfolio. Folio is a homage to the simplicity of small things that turn a light fixture into a decorative object.
The stylish lights consist of a square or rectangular reflector of matt, blown glass, affixed to a mounting of lacquered metal. During the manufacturing process, the reflector is blown, bent warm and dipped in acid. It is reminiscent of a paper sheet with two corners discreetly bent towards the wall or ceiling, lending volume to the sheet's two-dimensional shape. The two small visible screws are a subtle decoration element. The light emitted by the R7s lamp passes warm and intensely through the satined glass shade, and is additionally reflected by the wall located behind.
Folio is an appealing and high-quality lighting solution for corridors or stair wells, but creates atmospherical light oases also in living spaces. Folio Soffitto for the ceiling is available in one size, while it is possible to opt between two sizes for the Folio wall lamp.
Cleaning instructions by the manufacturer: All glass and metallic parts or other parts composing the light fixtures should be cleaned only with a soft cloth and a neutral cleaning product.
