About the Collection Foscarini Birdie
The designers Ludovica and Roberto Palomba created the Birdie lights for the label Foscarini in 2011. The Birdie table lamps are designer items with high recognizable value, despite their relatively sober shape.
The Birdie collection is inspired by nature and fires the imagination. The slender metallic stem reproduces a tree trunk with a prodruding small twig on which a small bird could rest. This fancy detail lends Birdie a distinctive, playful character. A classical, modernly interpreted light shade of polycarbonate emitting the lamp's light diffusely and glare-free rests on the lacquered metallic structure. Therefore, the modern Birdie table lamp is ideally suited for accent lighting or as a reading light on the desk or bedside table.
Birdie comes in a large array of colours: in white or grey Birdie is a discreet accent, in copper or turquoise blue it is more visually domineering. Beside the original Birdie Tavolo, the tasteful light is available as a suspension, a floor lamp or wall lamp. The Birdie wall lamp is outstanding for illuminating to the left and right next to the bed or as an accent light in living spaces or corridors, while the suspension models are especially well-suited as table illumination. Birdie LED is a further development with integrated LEDs and is state-of-the-art in terms of lighting technique.
Foscarini presented two new interpretations of Birdie in 2020. Birdie Zero and Birdie Easy feature a minimalistic aesthetics. Birdie Easy's light base comes in appealing new colours, while Birdie Zero is reduced to the essential that is the distinctive light shade. Birdie Zero has a shade resting on a metallic base which remains concealed from the viewer's gaze. The minimalistic Birdie light fixture provides a diffuse, atmospherical light escaping through the opening on the shade's top. Both table lamps were especially developed for hotels and restaurants, yet also set stylish accents in private spaces.
A combination of diverse Birdie versions forms a harmonious, modern and tasteful illumination.
The Birdie LED models are equipped with an integrated touch dimmer located on the protruding twig. The light is turned on by shortly touching the sensor's surface. To modify the light intensity, the sensor surface must be touched several times, until the desired brightness level has been reached. The Birdie models for screwable lamps feature a switch on the cable.
Cleaning instructions by the manufacturer: Whether alcohol nor solvents but only soft cloths should be used for cleaning. It is possible to moist the cloth with water and soap or with a neutral cleaning product.
