About the Collection Foscarini Lumiere
The elegant shape of the classic table lamp in a contemporary, exclusive interpretation and materiality has developed into an on-going success story for the Foscarini brand. The design by the Italian designer Rodolfo Dordoni was realized in 1990. It combines an elegant shade made of hand-blown Murano glass with a striking tripod. The bestseller is available in several glass and metal versions and always stays up to date due to further developments.
The uncompromisingly clear shape of the Foscarini Lumiere lights inspires again and again. The collection includes floor, ceiling and table lamps, which largely follow the same design principles: a glossy glass shade, an iconic silhouette with a curved tripod and a pleasant, atmospheric light. The shade has a classic, harmonious shape and emits the light partly downwards, partly diffused into the room. The colored glass overlay creates the diffuse atmospheric room lighting, while the glass's white inside gently directs the light downwards. The Lumiere table lamps set accents in the room and put exquisite furniture in the right light - whether on a bedside table, sideboard or side table.
The Lumiere shades change color when the light is switched on: the cherry red version changes from dark red to a bright red, the warm white version changes from white to a warm, yellowish tone and the turquoise version changes from dark to light turquoise. The classic white version only gets lighter.
Although the basic design of the Lumiere has always remained true to itself in its more than 30-year career, it has been continuously developed. The original colors of the shade were replaced by new, extraordinary versions, which change color when the light is switched on. The table lamps Lumiere XXL and Lumiere XXS and the Lumiere XXL Terra floor lamp have a slightly more distinctive, angular silhouette. The XXL Terra provides both atmospheric room lighting and sufficient light for reading.
