About the Collection Foscarini Big Bang
The name of this remarkable collection of lights by the great Italian brand Foscarini suggests the big optical "bang". In fact, the series of pendant, ceiling and wall lights offers an impressive aesthetic of intersecting and differently sized acrylic glass plates. The extraordinary design named after the Big Bang was conceived by Enrico Franzolini and Vicente Garcia Jiménez in 2006 and is available as Big Bang Soffitto, Big Bang Parete or as Big Bang Sospensione. While these halogen versions have screw bases, the Big Bang LED pendant light is equipped with energy-saving LEDs and available in three sizes.
The intersecting sheets of acrylic glass seemingly follow a random principle, but in fact the well thought-out concept results in a modern and original chandelier with sculptural character. The acrylic glass plates, lacquered in striking red or puristic white, direct the light emitted by the lamp downwards and reflect it. The Big Bang light fixture produces a sophisticated interplay of light and shadow, which produces different impressions depending on the perspective from where it is looked at. Nevertheless, Big Bang's lighting effect is harmonious and even, which comes as a surprise considering the screen's "chaotic" structure.
The Big Bang pendant lamp as a dominant element in the middle of the room, installed above dining tables or counters, forms an incomparable decorative highlight with a fantastic lighting effect. The Big Bang Soffitto ceiling light and the Big Bang Parete are particularly effective in exclusive offices or hallways.
