Design by Gio Ponti

The elliptically shaped Pirellina table lamp and the Pirellone floor lamp by FontanaArte follow a design by Gio Ponti from the year 1967. The light fixture's shape was inspired from the Pirelli tower, built by Gio Ponti in 1967. The lights of the collection are composed of two shades of bent pressed glass on a nickel-plated structure of cast brass. Several regularly distributed lamps serve for the even and diffuse illumination.

The Pirellone floor lamp is an elongated, 184 cm high lighting column. Thanks to its elliptical shape, it perfectly adapts to corners or smaller nooks. Pirellone has a double dimming function and provides, switched singly or at the same time, indirect upward light and serves as an uplighter, while spreading diffuse light at the same time. A total of 11 lamps are placed in the Pirellone floor lamp and turn the elliptical body into an enchanting lighting column.
