Pinecone by FontanaArte are enchanting light fixtures of glass and metal. The famous Italian designer Paola Navone who already worked in collaboration with the most significant labels of the design world, provided the design and the unique light fixtures have been included in the FontanaArte portfolio since 2016.
Pinecone's extraordinary diffuser arouses associations: the metallic grid's regular pattern and the curvatures of the glass diffuser create diamond-shaped facets which are reminiscent of pine cones. At the same time, the shape - especially in the white version - recalls an old-fashioned hot-air balloon and creates a fascinating retro touch. Pinecone's manufacturing process is as complex as impressive. Because the glass shade is blown directly in a metallic basket, the glass regularly bulges between the meshes. Depending on the version, each Pinecone light appeals with a charm of its own.
The metallic mesh is nickel-plated, the glass optionally comes in transparent or milky white. Both surfaces are bewitching. While the transparent glass provides a sparkling light, has a noble and precious appearance, the diffusely shining white version sharply emphasizes the mesh pattern and conveys a cozy retro charm.
