About the Collection FontanaArte IO
In 1610, Galileo Galilei discovers IO, one of the Jupiter moons whose name is derived from the name of one of Zeus' many lovers according to Greek mythology. In the telescope at the university of Padoua, Galileo Galilei sees a lighting point he soon discovers to be a small bright, yellow and reddish moon.
The wall lamp IO in the shape of a folded disc is a fixture encasing an LED light source. Its particularity lies in the fact that due to its double rotation axis, the light fixture rotates along its longitudinal axis and along the oblique axis, thereby facilitating a comprehensive light management. IO can be easily managed because of its size and with a back and forth movement, the external diffuser is capable of opening or closing the light beam.
Like a satellite with its planets it rotates around, the light fixture IO is seems to be on the verge of floating very close to the wall. It is not yet as close as to touch the wall and at a distance where the light softly strikes it. It has been created with the objective of providing a light as individual and changeable as possible. It's ideally suited for use as bedside lamp, but its versatility makes it an outstanding solution for the lighting of offices and hotel corridors. Despite its small size and easy positioning, the sturdiness of the diffuser made from cast aluminium is obvious. The same applies to the base for the wall mounting. The diffuser is mat lacquered in a choice of four colours: graphite grey, red, white and blue, whereas the inside is white. Dimmable with a separate LED dimmer (non included in the delivery).
