Flos
Toio Collection

Design by Achille Castiglioni, Pier Giacomo Castiglioni

This unconventional and extremely charismatic design was conceived in 1962 by the famous Castiglioni brothers. Achille Castiglioni drew inspiration from the popular art works of Marcel Duchamps. The result was a timeless uplighter that offers a dash of eccentricity paired with a wonderful function thanks to its generous light.

The Toio floor lamp is an authentic Flos designer classic. Formerly, Toio was equipped with a 300W lamp, today it is replaced by an energy saving 23W lamp. Because it is shaped like a car light, the lamp decisively impacts on the original overall aesthetics.

Also the edged and bent steel body is a characteristic feature of Toio. The unmistakable transformer located on the base ensures the light fixture's firm stand. The black electrical cable - that can be rolled up on a hook on the structure when the light stem is adjusted in height and surplus cable sticks out - runs along the thin, hexagonal light stem of nickel-plated brass. The light intensity of the light fixtures can be conveniently adapted to every need thanks to the dimmer integrated in the cable.

The car light of the Toio collection offers an indirect, generously spread room light that lends a cozy note to the surroundings. The car light is always comprised in the delivery.

To put the Flos Toio in one's home is to put a design object that shines with timeless presence, fantastic appeal and brilliant light. The steel body is available in three classical colour hues.

Cleaning instructions by the manufacturer: The light fixture should be cleaned with soft cloths only. It is possible to moist them with water and soap or with a neutral cleaning product. Do not use alcohol or solvents!
