About the Collection Flos To-Tie
For Flos, the aspiring young designer Guglielmo Poletti designed the table lamp collection To-Tie 2022 which shines with a unique aesthetics, while its name speaks for itself.
Poletti's approach is "self-explanatory" design as reflected in the To-Tie lights. The name "To-Tie" explains the table lamp's design principle, with elements reduced to the essential and connected together only by mechanic tension. The result of Poletti's experimental approach is a remarkably simple, yet striking table lamp, featuring elements put together without screws, adhesive or welding works, because the elements are solely connected by mechanic tension.
Basically, the To-Tie table lamps are composed of a cylindrical light body of clear borosilicate glass, manufactured in a choice of three sizes. A handle of aluminium, emitting light, is placed in horizontal position on the upper aperture. Here a multi LED diffuser of special white polycarbonate has been integrated, which distributes the glare-free light of the light diodes and prevents multiple shadow effects. A special highlight is the textile electrical cable which is not only an optically remarkable characteristic of To-Tie, but also connects all the elements together. The To-Tie table lamps distribute a diffuse, atmospherical light which provides, depending on the selected size, various contexts with optimum ambient light: To-Tie T1 is ideally suited for bedside tables thanks to its small size, To-Tie T2 is welcome on sideboards and bedside tables, yet is decorative when placed on the floor, and the larger To-Tie T3 is very appealing on lower couch tables.
Wherever they are placed, the Flos To-Tie table lamps appeal with a well thought out, reduced design, an atmospherical light and last but not least a sustainable concept. When assembling the light fixture, no adhesive is used and the single components can be exchanged and separately recycled.
The electrical cable coated with black textile is equipped with a switch dimmer. It enables to adjust the light intensity between 10 and 100% and to switch the light on and off.
Cleaning instructions by the manufacturer: The light fixture should be cleaned with soft cloths only.
It is possible to moist them with water and soap or with a neutral cleaning product. Do not use alcohol or solvents!
