Flos
Tatou Collection

Design by Patricia Urquiola

The Tatou luminaire designed by Patricia Urquiola for Flos in 2012 is pure elegance and complicated construction, warm atmosphere and attractive play of light and shadow. The reason for these apparent opposites is an equally high-quality and refined polycarbonate shade, which filters the light like a second diffuser and sets a visual highlight with its special three-dimensional surface. The internal, spherical diffuser of the Flos Tatou is made of opal-colored, injection-molded polycarbonate. After the light has been filtered twice, it is particularly soft and beautiful.

The unique Tatou design is inspired by a Japanese armor, which is made up of many metal buckles that are skillfully connected with ribbons. The name "Tatou" is French and means "armadillo", whose skin has a similar three-dimensional surface with a geometric pattern. The name has a very emotional sound and thus fits the subtle nature of the lamp.

Tatou by Patricia Urquiola was first published in 2012, the collection consists of pendant lamps in two sizes as well as table and floor lamps. The base and the frame of the Tatou table and floor lamp are made of painted steel. An E27 bulb is used as the light source, which is not included in the delivery.

Cleaning instructions by the manufacturer: The light fixture should be cleaned with soft cloths only. It is possible to moist them with water and soap or with a neutral cleaning product. Do not use alcohol or solvents!
