About the Collection Flos Smithfield
Flos Smithfield are ceiling lamps and suspensions with a flat-convex shade and clear featuring a smooth formal language. The Smithfield collection was designed in 2009 by the British designer Jasper Morrison for the Italian light manufacturer Flos. The light fixtures comply with Morrison's principle to develop fonctional objects with a timelessly elegant shape.
Inspiration and name giver was the famous Smithfield market of London and the traditional illumination of this place. The Flos Smithfield is based on principles of industrial design: a shade of metal, a direct light and a convincing clearness in design. At the same time, the smoothly rounded shapes demonstrate modernity.
Discreet or strong colours, in matt or shiny, and a diffuser of opaline methacrylate preventing the light from glaring and spreading it softly, turn Smithfield into a light fixture that can be use versatily in public or private areas. The suspensions are suitable for illuminating dining tables thanks to their glare-free, downward light. The ceiling lamps spread generous room light and can be used for general lighting in living rooms, dining rooms or bedrooms.
The original Smithfield is equipped with a screw base for E27 lamp, while the further developped Smithfield Pro has integrated LEDs and produces a very high quality light with high visual comfort and a colour rendering of more than 95.
Cleaning instructions by the manufacturer: When cleaning the light fixture, please use only soft cloths. It is also possible to moist them with water and soap or with a neutral product. Please, do not use alcohol or solvents!
