Flos
Parentesi Collection

Design by Achille Castiglioni

The design for the Flos Parentesi was developed by the designers Achille Castiglioni and Pio Manzù in 1971 - at that time an innovation as regards flexible lighting. Today the Flos designer classic is an integral part of the range and thanks to its timelessness and functionality it is in demand as always.

Parentesi' design proves to be extremely clever - the floor lamp consists of a round base and a steel cable that stretches from the foot to the ceiling. The lamp body is made of injection-moulded elastomer on which the lamp holder with the lamp is attached. The lamp body acts as a kind of sled because it can slide easily along the steel cable, which means that the light of the spotlight can also be varied in height. Parentesi thus offers flexible and zoned lighting.

The successful and timeless Flos lamp is available in two versions: Parentesi D has an integrated dimmer, while the normal Parentesi can be switched on and off using a switch on the lamp holder. Whether as a reading lamp or to illuminate sitting areas in private or public spaces - Parentesi always appeals with its filigree and still highly modern character.

Cleaning instructions by the manufacturer: The light fixture should be cleaned with soft cloths only. It is possible to moist them with water and soap or with a neutral cleaning product. Do not use alcohol or solvents!
