About the Collection Flos Luminator
Luminator by Flos is an absolute designer classic by the Castiglioni brothers from the year 1954. The floor lamp features a strickingly minimalistic shape, a design which appears timeless even after decades. A filigreed tripod, a rectilinear stem and a seemingly visible light at the upper end.
While the iron stem of the original Luminator model comes in a discreet anthracite colour, the reviewed, in 2022 newly relaunched Luminator is now available in fresh, striking pop colours. A new lacquering technique on water basis provides more sustainability in the manufacturing process. Instead of the 300W incandescent lamp, Luminator is now designed for energy-efficient E27 LED lamps, which also enables a greater lighting strength. The bulb spreads the light evenly, indirectly upwards, turning Luminator into an uplighter. The light intensity is adjustable with a switch dimmer.
The original design with three thin metallic legs and the slender, cylindrical stem was entirely transfered in the reedition. The minimalist classical light fixture is able to effortlessly bridge the gap and offers more modernity and efficiency by keeping the original light's optical sophistication thanks to Flos' technical and conceptual skills.
The Luminator floor lamp is delivered without a lamp. Please, consider the indications about the recommended lamp (LED lamp).
Cleaning instructions by the manufacturer: The light fixture should be cleaned with soft cloths only.
It is possible to moist them with water and soap or with a neutral cleaning product. Do not use alcohol or solvents!
