The KTribe suspensions were first introduced by Flos in 2005. Two years later, the collection by Philippe Starck was extended with the KTribe floor lamps, table lamps and wall lamps.
Basically, the popular Flos lights consist of a conical shade of half-transparent, vapozired PMMA in various versions. The version KTribe Soft has a shade of translucent, pleated textile fabric. The structure consists of aluminium and zamak alloy.
Every KTribe lights' inside additionally contains an opaline white diffuser of polycarbonate. It remains invisible in the versions Fumé/Bronze when the light is switched off. When operating the light switch, the shade is transformed. It is filled with light and half-transparent. In this way, the silhouette of the internal diffuser comes to light in a charming way and establishes a wonderful, geometrical contrast with the external shade. With the transparent shades, the internal diffuser is visible also when the light is switched off.
KTribe by Flos is also a true master of metamorphosis. When off, the shade appears cool and elegant thanks to the grooved pattern, when on KTribe sets decorative accents and provides pleasant, diffuse and glare-free light upwards and downwards. The KTribe Soft spreads an even more soft light through its shade of pleated textile fabric. Beside the suspensions in two sizes, there is the timeless KTribe also available as floor lamps for reading, as table lamps for bedside tables or as wall lamps.
Cleaning instructions by the manufacturer: When cleaning the light fixture, please use only soft cloths. It is also possible to moist them with water and soap or with a neutral cleaning product. Please, do not use alcohol or solvents!
