About the Collection Flos Kelvin
The collection Flos Kelvin comprises a series of functional work and reading lights with steerable light. The design from the year 2003 originates from Antonio Citterio and counts among the most successful Flos lights.
A flexibly adjustable double arm structure and a steerable light head for direct lighting characterize the design. Flos Kelvin is available as desk lights with square, robust base, as a wall lamp and as a floor lamp.
Originally, the Flos Kelvin table lamps were developped for use with halogen or fluorescent lamps. The shade had a characteristical bevelled conical shape and its shape and size were defined by the necessary E27 lamps. Following the triumph of the LED technology, this older model was finally completely replaced by the Kelvin LED. Because LED lamps require less space than standard lamps, more compact shapes are made possible. The light head is not anymore conical but flat and space-saving. The light fixtures appear more discreet and lighter, without loosing functionality.
The square light head features modern, rounded edges. The LED diffuser is located on the whole underside and there is a touch dimmer on the upper part, via which the lights can be operated. Its position complies with an intuitive use. It is conveniently reachable and can be operated without standing up.
The different models of Kelvin LED also have practical special functions. Many lights are now equipped with the light mode "Green Mode", enabling to automatically adapt the lights' brightness to the lighting situation in the room. Besides, the light fixtures are equipped with a "movement detector" function. Manual dimming is still possible as always by deactivating the Green Mode.
The youngest version Kelvin Edge with modern Edge Lighting technology offers the possibility to dim the light at three stages and vary the light colour between neutral and warm light. At daytime, the same light fixture offers also bright task light for the desk and in the evening a cozy reading light for relaxing.
Cleaning instructions by the manufacturer: When cleaning the light fixture, please use only soft cloths. It is possible to moist it with water and soap or with a neutral cleaning product. Please, do not use alcohol or solvents!
