About the Collection Flos Frisbi

The suspension fixture Frisbi by Flos was designed 1978 by Achille Castiglioni and is the most perfect solution he ever designed to illuminate eating tables.

This at first sight simple looking luminaire is in fact a very thought-out object that can produce direct, diffused and indirect light at the same time. Its hemispherical polished, nickel-plated, and zapon-varnished stamped sheet metal reflector is painted gloss-white inside. It hangs from the ceiling with a black cable. The ceiling rosette of injection-moulded ABS is also painted black. Underneath the reflector there is an opaline polymethylmethacrylate injection-molded diffuser plate suspended by three fine steel cables.

This disk has a hole in its centre that let direct light fall on the eating table. Some of the remaining light is filtered downwards through the disk and has a diffuse quality, whereas some light is reflected towards the ceiling.
