About the Collection Flos Bilboquet
The Flos table lamp Bilboquet was launched in 2023 and is a design by Philippe Malouin. Because of its compact size, it can be flexibly used and its light direction can be modified by a magnetic ball joint in a playful manner.
The designer's intent was to create a light fixture that serves not only for one purpose and is not static, but is able to adapt to evolving conditions. Because of its movement range, there are several possible uses for Bilboquet: as a task-light on the desk, as an atmospherical light on a wall or as a reading light next to a bed.
Bilboquet consists of two coloured cylinders that are connected by a magnetic ball-joint. The body consists of a special, pigmented synthetics (polycarbonate), that is obtained from a by-product of paper manufacturing and not from petroleum. The ball-joint is made of stainless steel and was coated with a protective layer using the PVD process. The upper cylinder with the light source can be turned via the steel ball and the light direction can be modified. Bilboquet is originally a French game from the 16th century, the composing elements of which inspired Philippe Malouin when he designed the table lamp.
The two meter long cable can run through an additional aperture in the base and contains the switch. Bilboquet is equipped with a GU10 lamp and guarantees a direct light illumination.
Developped according ISCC Standards, the Flos table lamp does not contain glued components and can be completely dismantled to be disposed of and recycled. Furthermore, Bilboquet is delivered in a very compact packaging enabling to reduce the expedition and storage volume. For the mounting, simple and few movements are enough.
Cleaning instructions by the manufacturer: When cleaning the light fixture, please use only soft cloths. It is also possible to moist them with water and soap or with a neutral cleaning product. Please do not use alcohol or solvents!
