Serena by Flos - Feather light: A leaf in the wind, it is the impression given by the table lamp Flos Serena by Patricia Urquiola. With Serena, the designer presents a light fixture which plays with natural elements and produces an impression of nonchalance and lightness. This is made possible by the natural design of the table lamp Flos Serena which looks simple and essential at first glance. As a matter of fact, the construction and technology which are concealed in the Serena are smart and refined. But isn't it the case with nature itself? The leaf that hangs from the tree, turns to the light, shades it or lets it through, depending on what is needed - this idea is conveyed by Patricia Urquiola into the design of the table lamp Flos Serena.
The table lamp Flos Serena is composed of a black cylinder which contains an LED and of a mobile reflector able to control intensity and direction of the light. The cylinder has a heat-cooler of cast aluminium, a coating of black photoengraved polycarbonate and a diffuser of photoengraved optical PMMA. The reflector of the table lamp Flos Serena has the appearance of a leaf of anodised aluminium. The light of the warm white LED can be easily switched on and varied in intensity between 10 and 100% by means of the switch-dimmer.
Because it does have superfluous details and seems to be natural on the one side, emotional and refined on the other side, the table lamp Flos Serena marvelously integrates in any interior. Its shape adapts with any style and a simple gesture is enough to get the wished light effect. The indirect LED light associates an innovative light technique with the greatest comfort for the user, who is able to enjoy the versatility of the Flos Serena.
