About the Collection Fabbian Armilla

The collection Fabbian Armilla consists of a ball-shaped suspension and a table lamp, designed by Lorenzo Truant. The Italian designer drew inspiration from the first representations of star and planet movements during the Renaissance period.

At that time, these movements were comonly represented in opulent models, so-called armillary spheres. At first, the Earth was at the centre of theses spheres, yet when they followed Copernicus' theories, the Earth was replaced by the Sun as the universe's centre.

Truant used this example to conceive the Armilla light fixtures with shiny white opaline glass spheres, surrounded by three filigreed metallic rings. The lamp located inside lets the glass shade shine and plunges the surroundings in light, diffuse light, while the shinning lamp symbolizes the Sun.

The light fixtures in the Fabbian Armilla collection are available with a ball diameter of 36 cm, while the metallic elements are offered in diverse polished refined surfaces. Because of the polished structure and the shiny white ball, Armilla always seems especially exquisite and precious. The Armilla table lamp can serve as a decorative object on side tables, sideboards or window sills, while the Armilla suspension wonderfully works over dining tables, in living rooms or in entry halls.
