About the Collection Escale Blade
Peter Kraus designed for the German light brand Escale the Blade collection in 2108, which compiles wall and ceiling lamps in diverse sizes. Blade was elected "Light of the Year 2020".
The matt colours silver, concrete grey and white are available. In 2020, the German label extended the successful collection. Next to the new Blade Open and Blade Open RGB lights, the surfaces colours foil gold, anthracit and taupe are now available. Finally in 2022, the surface colours black and bronze were added.
There is a LED ribbon which projects warm white light onto the wall behind the circular reflector of lacquered aluminium. The wall reflects the light back into the room. The result are magical light halos and atmospherical light ambiences. The Blade Open versions' reflector features an additional circular aperture through which the light shines even more intensely and generates additional striking graphic effects on the wall or ceiling.
The Blade lights can be mounted on the wall and ceiling where they appeal whether used singly or forming groups. By using a connector set, it is possible to join two single Blade or Blade Open lights, and form dramatic, unique lighting objects comprising up to eight light fixtures. There is also a Plug & Play wall connecting cable with plug and switch to plug the light fixture in a wall socket. If you wish the Plug & Play connecting cable please send us a separate request. With the exception of the Blade Open RGB version, all the Blade lights are externally dimmable and are Smart Home compatible. On request, we can deliver an integrated Casambi module for controlling via a tablet or Smartphone. Only the Blade Open RGB lights are equipped with a built-in Casambi module – the inner side is dimmable within the RGB modus.
