Yaacov Kaufman

Yaacov Kaufman was born in 1945 in the former USSR. After spending some years in Poland (1945-1957), he moved to Israel. Today he lives in Tel Aviv and works in Jerusalem and Milan. He obtained his degree in Sculpture at the Bat Yam Institute of Art. He has been teaching industrial design at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem since 1994.

The designer has worked together with many European light and furniture manufacturers. He has worked with Lumina, Serien Lighting, Tecno, Arflex and Luxo. Kaufman won some design prizes, like the Norwegian Design Council Prize and the Red Dot Award. The designer also holds several patents. One of them is a patent for mobile arm structures which are used for his task lights Job for Serien Lighting and for the collection Naomi for Lumina.
