Luta Bettonica

Luta Bettonica

The Italian designer was born in 1968 in Milan and studied industrial design at the Istituto Europeo di Design. She completed her studies in 1991, and afterwards made her first practical experiences with the two Cini & Nils founders, her father Franco Bettonica and Mario Melocchi. In 1996, Luta Bettonica opened her own designer studio, named "Studio Bettonica Leone" with the architect Giancarlo Leone in Milan, which implements design and architecture projects. The Milan-born works since 2002 as a creative director at the Cini & Nils light manufacture and leads the company since 2013.

The hallmark of the innovative design company are clear, geometric shapes, which are also reflected in Luta Bettonica's designs for Cini & Nils. She created the ball-shaped Convivio suspension which concentrates the light on a precise area, as well as the remarkable FormaLa wall lamp which casts expressive light and shadow interplays onto the wall.
