Ludovica & Roberto Palomba

The architects and designers Ludovica and Roberto Palomba are partners in all areas of life. They share a workshop called Palomba Serafini Associati and are a couple in real life. After having obtained their diplomas in Rom, they founded their design studio in Milan in 1994. Since then, they have devoted themselves to architecture and design, graphic design, communication, art direction and marketing consulting. Roberto Palomba has given classes in industrial design at the famous Polytechnic University of Milan since 2003. Ludovica & Roberto's hallmark is craftsmanship with rich traditions paired with a taste for innovation. This explains why their work is based on profound knowledge of design's historical and cultural roots. The results are very functional, durable, and timeless products reflecting both the past and the future.

The designers achieved enormous success with bath and sanitary products, but are also the creative spirits behind famous lights produced by well-known manufacturers. The duo displays a special talent for blown glass. Ludovica and Roberto Palomba created the Gregg Sospensione for the Italian company Foscarini. Gregg consists of an organically-shaped diffuser of satined glass and breaks with the conventional spherical suspension thanks to its original form. The Gregg light series has suspensions, table lamps, ceiling lamps and wall lamps. Rituals is another highlight. It is a light series of hand-polished glass with an interesting grooved appearance. The Palombas also designed the famous Foscarini Birdie table lamp. In addition to extraordinary lighting objects, the designer duo has created exceptional pieces of furniture and accessories for the manufacturer Kartell.
