Luca Nichetto

Luca Nichetto was born in 1976 in Venice and went to the Istituto statale d'arte before he graduated as an industrial designer at the Università Iuav in Venice. Early in his career in 1999, he worked with the professional Murano glass blower Salviati and was later product designer and adviser for the big Foscarini lighting label. He also worked for internationally renowned design companies as an art director and gained a profound knowledge of design.

In 2006 Luca Nichetto finally founded his own design studio in Venice. This studio which specializes in industrial design, product design and design counselling has made a name for itself quite quickly in the world of design thanks to some collaborations with reputed labels. In reaction to the increasing demand from companies from all over the world, Nichetto founded a second studio in Stockholm. The Luca Nichetto design studio now offers an interdisciplinary approach. The projects reflect Nichetto's passion for design and handmade as well as industrial producing processes. Each project has been designed by Nichetto down to the smallest detail and expresses cultural particularities with subtlety and refinement.

Luca Nichetto's clients are Cassina, De Padova, FontanaArte, Foscarini, Hermès and IMM Cologne. For Foscarini the designer designed the elegant, rectilinear Troag wood suspension, the remarkable Plass suspension in gemstone style or the extraordinary Kurage together with the Japanese Nendo design studio.
