Christophe Pillet

The French designer Christophe Pillet was born in Montargis in 1959 and today lives and works in Paris. He received international recognition for the diversity and high-quality of his projects and, for this reason, counts among the most famous French designers in the world.

Pillet studied at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Nizza and graduated from the Domus Academy in Milan. After completing his studies, he became member of the Memphis Group and assisted Martine Bedin and Michele De Lucchi. After he came back to Paris, Christophe Pillet contributed to the development of the Starck agency and worked from 1988 to 1993 with Philippe Starck. In 1993, he founded his own design studio and was named "Designer of the Year" at the Salon du Meuble in Paris in 1994. His works were presented at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, in the Museum of Crafts and Arts of Lucerne and in many other famous exhibitions.

His creative range reaches from the conception of furniture and other interior design products to architecture, interior design and artistic direction. The basic principles of his works comprise a clear expression and the quest for simplicity. Thanks to his art of drawing and innate sense for elegance and refinement, he creates prestigious objects, characterizing an unmistakable and sensual signature.

Christophe Pillet has designed shops for fashion labels, luxury hotels, restaurants and fair stands for international car exhibitions. He has conceived exquisite furniture and lighting and, for this reason, received numerous international distinctions. Among them there is the Red Dot Design Award, the Wallpaper Design Award and the Prix d'excellence.
