About the Collection DCWéditions Lampe Gras
The Lampe Gras collection by DCWéditions was designed by Bernard-Albin Gras in 1921. Originally a task-light, the light fixture is now available in a large number of versions, for a variety of uses.
The Lampe Gras was the first light ever to be equipped with joints in 1921. Its innovative flexibility was meant to improve the working conditions of workers. For this reason, the light fixture is functional, devoid of superfluous ornaments and made of robust metal. It is suitable for everyday work in workshops and studios. Famous artists and architects very soon made use of the Lampe Gras, among them Le Corbusier, Henri Matisse and Eileen Gray.
The functional, aesthetical and utmost attractive design is available in many versions, with a choice of two shades, various colours and several metallic versions. The collection also features Gras light fixtures with spherical glass diffusers and with an especially slender reflector head. For a long time already, the iconic lights are not only used for illuminating work spaces. The ceiling lamps equipped with long arms stylishly provide light above dining tables, the Lampe Gras Outdoor lights bring retro flair outside and the modular Acrobats de Gras system makes individual suspensions arrangements possible which create an extravagant vintage style in large rooms.
