Nike by Catellani & Smith - decorative table lamp, rooted in art history:
The unique Nike table lamp does not merely reference and replicate one of Anciet Greece's most famous works of art; it is also a playful and ironic examination of the form and functionality of a table lamp: A beautiful statue is equipped with a flexible metal arm that bears an LED light source and a small glass lens. This lens directs the light onto the figurine, and as a result the lamp illuminates itself - it showcases itself as a precious work of art.
The Nike lamp is a miniature version of the famous Nike of Samothrake, a statue of the goddess of victory. It has been rendered in matt white ceramic material with a stone base. The flexible arm is made of nickel-plated brass.
The lamp is equipped with a dimmer switch located on the cable.
