About the Collection Bover Nans
The Nans collection by the Spanish light manufacturer Bover has been included in Bover's portfolio since 2022 and was designed by Joana Bover.
Cala Nans is a bay in the small fisher village Cadaquès on the Costa Brava coast in Catalonia. The idea for the Nans series was inspired by this quiet, Mediterranean nature spot, where one only hears the sound of the sea and the singing of the birds. The hand-woven shades are the expression of true handicrafts and are available in three different colours and many different sizes. Nans reflects Mediterranean atmosphere and offers models for each demand of cozy and ambient lighting.
The shades of every Bover Nans outdoor and indoor lights are made of hand-woven, recyclable and non-toxic, synthetic polyethylene textile fibres. The structure is made of granit brown stainless steel and aluminium. Each Nans light is equipped with a permanently installed LED light source, protected with a polycarbonate diffuser.
The collection includes wall lamps, suspensions, ceiling lamps and portable, rechargeable light fixtures for outside, each equipped with an IP54 protection class. Only the Nans S/3L suspensions with three lamps and the rechargeable table lamp Nans M/21/R, equipped with IP20 protection class, are suitable for inside only.
The Nans suspensions are available with shades in a choice of sizes. The single suspensions feature cylindrical or ball-shaped shades. Other models offer more possibilities. The Nans S/16/H has a loose cable with plug, which can be rolled up on a beam or twig, serving as a suspension system. The Nans Catenary is an appealing lighting garland equipped with four shades, turning sheltered terraces or balconies into cozy oases, when it is getting dark.
Bover Nans is a collection with many facets, enabling to combine single models in a context and creating a unique Mediterranean and cozy ambience. The light emitted by the very warm white LEDs passes through the apertures in the woven object and directly downwards.
Cleaning instructions for the models Nans Outdoor: When the light fixtures are installed in environments with a high salt content, maintenance measures are necessary. The manufacturer recommends to clean the lights now and then with a soft brush, in order to remove the salt residues, the dirt and the dust.
