Bocci
73V Collection

The lighting objects 73V by Bocci are a further development of the collection 73, however with a new, oval shape and an extended range of colours. The design by Omer Arbel is reminiscent of mysterious deep sea creatures or soft textiles. The collection comprises diverse suspensions and is available in a choice of seven stylish colour hues.

To keep the diffuser's extraordinary appearance, a glass body is directly blown in a mould of heat-resistant textile. Fall of fold and woven structure of the textile leave accurate details in the liquid glass. The special textile of ceramic fibres comes off from the glass without any residues, while the glass takes on an asymmetrical shape and a thin texture after cooling. A light source inside the diffuser fills it with a soft light that emphasizes all the details and influences the perception of the object. Each 73V is a unique piece with unique, never repeated properties. Their precise dimensions can vary accordingly, yet the light fixtures all feature the same oval basic shape.

The suspensions use suspension systems with which each glass shade is suspended in an oblique position, as if it would float under water or were whirled up by a draught.

There are two optional lamps. The LED version has the advantage of a lower current consumption and a longer life-span, while the xenon version has a very natural colour rendering of Ra 100.

In both cases, a soft, atmospherical illumination is generated. The light is not strong enough to illuminate a room, but puts to the fore first of all the detail-loving design of 73V. They are less light fixtures than lighting objects that magically interact with the room.

For the project area, there are further models with up to 61 glass diffusers and special lengths of up to 30 meters on request. It must be noted that above a certain number of diffusers, the cable length cannot be adjusted by the user, but must be determined by Bocci. When ordering, the desired minimum and maximum cable lengths must be mentioned.
