Werner Aisslinger, the well-known German designer and architect, was inspired by stylized tree structures that are used in architectural models for the Tree Series for the Basque manufacturer B.Lux. In the case of the former floor and table lamp, the natural model can be clearly seen, in the case of the pendant and ceiling light the characteristic shade shaped like an abstract tree top remains as a distinguishing feature.
The Tree Series ceiling and pendant lights have permanently integrated, dimmable LEDs. The shade is made up of parallel, wave-shaped aluminium strips that wrap around a flattened spherical shape. The light from the internal LED is not only directly emitted downwards, it can also pass laterally through the cut-outs between the strips. The strips' inner surface serves as a reflector, which creates a warm, bright light atmosphere, especially with the gold-colored version. This gives the object an additional, highly decorative value.
