About the Collection Belux Updown
The prized Belux Updown suspensions by Reto Schöpfer for Belux were originally developed over two decades ago. The new versions still have the magic of the two preceding models, yet shine with contemporary LED lighting technique and are available in new appealing colour hues to adapt to the most diverse surroundings.
The genius in the Belux Updown suspensions is the adjustment mechanism with the aid of which diverse lighting ambiences can be created. Both reflectors of anodized aluminium can be positioned with a simple hand gesture so that the diffuser's light is directed directly downwards, partly downwards and upwards or only upwards. Three different lighting scenarios are possible. Indirect light upwards ensures generous room illumination, while direct light downwards brightens precisely surfaces located downwards, which produces the desired lighting effect on dining tables, desks or counters. The Updown lights' ceiling rose is always white and the cable is black.
Belux Updown is available in two lengths and the integrated LEDs can be dimmed. Updown WD (Wireless Dim) is the newest technical further development and can be controlled cablelessly via mobile devices and the free-of-charge Casambi app.
Because of the timeless, minimalistic design, Updown adapts especially well to modern and contemporary furnishing styles. It is also a style break in traditional interiors.
The extravagant Updown collection was awarded the Red Dot Design Award and the Swiss prize Design Preis Schweiz.
