About the Collection Belux One By One
The light collection One By One was created by the sculptor Steve Lechot for the Swiss label Belux, and offers a thrilling play with light and shadow thanks to an uncommon material and an interesting workmanship. The collection One By One by Belux comprises a floor lamp and suspensions in three different lengths.
Lechot who was raised in the Swiss Jura is strongly influenced by Japanese culture, and beside stone also works with materials like parchment and light as demonstrated by One By One's first sketches. The collection's name is inspired by the isoceles geometry of the polyester fleece layers, similar to paper sheets and seemingly loosely laying on top of each others or forming a row.
Because of several finishing processes, the polyester fleece is nearly untearable and hardly inflammable, and thus very resistant. Unlike conventional paper lights, the material has a very long life-span.
The light fixtures are made by hand in a workshop for disabled persons. Crumpling the paper and putting the layers and spacers in rows demands a lot of concentration and perseverance. The result are light fixtures with an airy appearance and an emotional lighting effect. One By One can illuminate the room intensely, and creates a mood lighting when the light has been dimmed. The desired dimming level is simply saved via an integrated button and can be reprogrammed again.
The One By One suspensions are suspended on a discreet suspension from the ceiling, and it seems that the shade floats in the air. Because their glare is perfectly reduced, they are not only a fascinating lighting object over dining tables or counters, but can also illuminate offices intensely. The One By One floor lamp is also a lighting sculpture with unique appearance in the living and working spaces.
While the original One By One lights are equipped with fluorescent tubes, the newest versions have permanently installed LEDs, controllable via a dimmer switch. Besides, the suspensions can be dimmed via DALI.
Cleaning instructions by the manufacturer: The light must be regularly cleaned with a vacuum cleaner at lowest level. Rubbing should be avoided because there is a risk of fuzzing. The light fixture must be protected from oil and fat to remain clean. For this reason, an installation in a kitchen is not recommended.
