The Baltensweiler Irio S DTW floor lamp is a both elegant and functional light source providing individual reading light and general lighting. It was awarded the Red Dot Design Award in 2020.
The light fixture is made of aluminium and consists of a vertical stem and three refletor heads which are affixed along the stem by magnets. They are height-adjustable and steerable as one desires. Depending on height and direction, they provide reading light downwards, indirect general illumination or set interesting lighting accents in a room.
Each light head shines with an illumination angle of 110 degrees (1840 lm), but it is also possible to achieve strongly focussed light (35 degrees, 690 lm) by adding an optical accessory.
The design appeals with sleek, aesthetical shapes and high-quality, neutral surfaces.
Function and comfort are paramount. The light's luminosity is conveniently varied with two buttons on the stem (within reach at 90,8 cm of height). Both spotlights for room illumination and the spotlight for reading light are independently switched or dimmed. When dimming the light down, the colour temperature is also modified (Dim To Warm), enabling to create a warm lighting atmosphere with dimmed light in the evening.
A main switch located on the stem switches the whole light fixture on and off. There a cable container where to roll superfluous cable in the base.
The light heads and the base cover are made of anodized aluminium, the stem is chrome-plated. The electric cable is black.
The Irio floor lamp is ideally suited for a comfy living room, where it provides both flexible reading light next to a couch and a soft indirect illumination. The modern, pared-down design, the intuitive operation and the many possibilities to direct the light beam, select the light intensity and choose a position turn Irio into a multifunctional lighting solution which replaces several light sources in small rooms and adapts to diverse furnishing styles.
