Artemide
Unterlinden Collection

Design by Herzog & de Meuron

The Unterlinden LED lights by Artemide brand were designed by the architecture and design studio Herzog & de Meuron. They were originally created in 2016 for the new building of the Musée Unterlinden in Colmar, France and combine a modern LED technology with a unique weathered, antique style. The collection was included in the Artemide portfolio in 2017 and comprises a suspension and a table lamp with embedded LEDs, available with 3000K and 2700K. The shade comes in aluminium and brass. Unterlinden was awarded the Design Plus Award 2016.

The distinctive shade has a relief structure which resembles driftwood or antique items, enhancing the light's archetypal charm. Because of the flat brim and slender point, it is elegant while it optically stands out. The shade has a grooved surface which also serves as heat dissipation for the integrated LEDs. A lens of polymer concentrates the light into a precise light beam.

Despite a filigreed design and a small shade, Unterlinden has a domineering presence in the room. It is perfectly well suited for prestigious offices and private libraries, also for illuminating tables and counters in comfortable ambiences.
