About the Collection Artemide Pipe
The Pipe LED lights by Artemide are flexible light sources with both futuristic and organic lines. They were created by the renowned design studio Herzog & de Meuron in 2002 and were used in several architecture projects.
The collection includes a suspension, a wall and ceiling lamp and a floor lamp.
The Pipe lights have a flexibly bendable light arm of metal, coated with a silicone flexible. It fluidly connects with the funnel-like light head and fascinates with its organic design. This impression is reinforced by the conical mounting for wall and ceiling, because the flexible seems to seamlessly adapt to it. The floor lamp has a base with a fancy shape resembling a car tyre. Only the upper part of the floor lamp's stem is flexible, the lower part is rigid, even if it forms a visible unity because of the silicone cover.
Head and ceiling rose are made of polycarbonate with a soft-touch paint. An aluminium reflector in the light head directs the light and provides a beautiful design detail.
The silicone cover was treated against yellowing.
Because it is possible to freely shape Pipe and direct its light in nearly any direction, the light fixtures are suitable as a reading lamp, as a fancy light setting an accent or as an indirect light source. In modern spaces especially, Pipe harmoniously blends in with its surroundings.
