Artemide
Nur Collection

Design by Ernesto Gismondi

The Artemide Nur lights were designed by Ernesto Gismondi and awarded with the Red Dot Design Award in 2004. The collection includes several suspensions and ceiling lamps, whether for traditional, exchangeable lamps or equipped with fixed LEDs. The standard Nur lights have a rough surface, Nur Gloss instead is available in shiny colours. The Nur Accoustic suspension is a special version, made of a special synthetics which has sound-absorbing properties, ideally suited for large public rooms, restaurants and hotel lobbies.

The Nur lights' shade is made of aluminium or synthetics and has a distinctive, tall bell-shape. The suspensions' diffusers are closed on top by a cover of borosilicate glass, so that in addition to the direct lighting, there is also a soft indirect illumination. Also the ceiling lamps' ceiling roses are illuminated by a small amount of light, creating a decorative light crown onto the ceiling. For this reason, the Nur lights are ideally suited for cozy living spaces, cafes and more. The shade's remarkable shape adapts to modern and classic interiors and, depending on the surface of the selected version, sets an industrial retro accent or a highly modern note.
