About the Collection Artemide Nesso

The Nesso table lamps by Artemide are the re-edition of an Italian designer classic from 1967, designed by Giancarlo Mattioli and the Gruppo Architetti Urbanisti Città Nuova. Besides the original Nesso, the collection comprises also the smaller Nessio table lamp. Both models are available in white and orange.

The mushroom shaped light fixtures are made of synthetics moulded by injection and are characterized by soft, harmonious curves. The large shade has a funnel-shaped hole in its middle that is directly connected to the light base. Shade and base form a unity with organic charm, conforming to the 1960s' design style. The synthetics and the cheerful orange colour are strong indicators that the light is a designer classic of the sixtees. The opaline white version is a neutral alternative.

Nesso and Nessino provide diffuse and direct light, and are usually placed on sideboards and side tables in the living room. The light fixtures have a cable equipped with a switch and receive four lamps.

Nesso is part of the permanent collection in the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
