Artemide
Miconos Collection

Design by Ernesto Gismondi

The Miconos lights by Artemide were designed in 1998 by Ernesto Gismondi and are characterized by a timeless, functional design, relying on simple, refined materials and clear shapes. The collection includes a suspension, a wall lamp and a ceiling lamp.

The light fixtures have a large glass ball serving as a light shade, inside which the lamp and the metallic structure are visible. The structure's lateral position and lamp socket lend the design a charming asymmetrical note. While the shade is made of transparent, blown glass, the metallic structure is available in satined brass or in shiny chrome, which adapt perfectly to diverse interiors. Because the lamp located inside is entirely visible, it influences on the light fixture's appearance. It is recommended to use a beautifully shaped globe lamp which harmoniously complements the diffuser's shape.
