Artemide
Chlorophilia Collection

Design by Ross Lovegrove

The Chlorophilia LED pendant lights by Artemide were designed by Ross Lovegrove, and a fantastic example of his typical design language, inspired by nature. The collection was created in 2015 and features two pendant lamps: the simple Chlorophilia and the larger Chlorophilia 2 with a double diffuser.

The central light bodies of shiny aluminium is suspended on three thin cables. Here, the COB LED module is integrated and guides the light upwards where it is refracted and reflected by an extraordinary shade. This shade is formed by several PMMA sheets whose shape resembles the leaves of a tree - specifically the jagged, curved oak tree leaves. The leaves overlap and create different shapes with a lively character depending on the viewing angle. Fascinating light and shadow effects across the ceiling are reminiscent of the light filtering through the foliage in a forest. Not only the shade is reminiscent of foliage, also the aluminium body adhers to an organic formal language. The overall design is soft and organic, but still very modern thanks to its reduced colour scheme and the elegant combination of shiny metal and transparent, glass-like synthetics.

Graceful despite its size, Chlorophilia is perfectly suited for rooms with high ceilings, whether cozy living rooms, bedrooms or a modern, prestigious public space.

Please note that in order to dim the light of the Chlorophilia LED pendant lamp, a 5-wire connection between the light fixture (or its dimming module) and a switch installed on site are required.
