About the Collection Artemide Boalum
With the famous Boalum's LED version, Artemide makes it possible for a designer classic to enter the 21rst century. The original design by Livio Castiglioni and Gianfranco Frattini dates from 1970 and first utilized Xenon lamps as light sources, now replaced by embedded and especially energy-efficient LEDs.
The lights' appearance and functionality remained unchanged: a white and transparent synthetic cable with a length of 2 metres, rolled up like a snake or stretched on the floor, on a sideboard or a window sill where it serves as a fancy light source. Boalum spreads diffuse light which highlights the flexible's grooved structure.
The light body is made of pliable, white PVC, and the ends of synthetic resin. It is possible to attach four light fixtures and obtain an up to 8 metres long light fixture. The switch is located at the light body's end where the cable connects.
