The wall lamp Tolomeo LED by Artemide keeps up with the time as the bestseller is now also available as LED version. LED technology means reduced energy consumption, longer duration and illuminance performance. Using LED technology, the attention must not only be focused on energy consumption and light efficiency, but above all on the quality of the distribution of light. In fact, LEDs emit 100% light flow into the immediate surroundings, eliminating dispersion and waste in other directions. Consequently, in order to obtain the same illuminance achieved with an 100W incandescent bulb only a 10W LED light source is necessary, resulting in a 90% energy saving. The Tolomeo series gives an impression of lightness. The two adjustable arms are made from polished aluminium. The lamp head from anodized aluminium can be oriented in any direction with the aid of a little stick. Its flexibility and mobility is a result of of the system of spring balancing using joints and fixations from polished aluminium, as well as cables on guiding wheels. Tolomeo offers optimal direct and partly scattered reading and task light. It can be operated by means of the black switch located on the head of the lamp. The Tolomeo was first presented to the public in 1987 on occasion of the famous light fair "Euroluce" in Italy and achieved an instant success. This success was reconfirmed in 1989, when the two designers were awarded the Compasso d'Oro, the Italian design Oscar. To this day, Tolomeo is continuosly adapted to actual requirements and remains Artemide's best known representative.
