The wall lamp Tolomeo Mega Parete by Artemide gives an impression of lightness. The two long and slender adjustable arms of the wall lamp are from polished aluminium. This luminaire offers great possibilities of flexibility and mobility on account of the system of spring balancing using joints and fixations from polished aluminium as well as cables on guiding wheels. This spring system was first used in the nineteen-thirtees for the famous "Anglepoise" lamp with the aim to achieve more mobility. The conical shade of the lamp is available in two different materials and comes in three sizes (32 cm, 36 cm or 42 cm of diameter). The shade from stabilized translucent and light parchment gives off a very warm and pleasant light whereas the one from greyish silk satin looks nearly white as soon as the Tolomeo Mega Parete is on. This functional luminaire is delivered together with a polished aluminium base, on which the lighting body can rotate. The Tolomeo Mega Parete can be equipped with a simple switch or with a dimmer on the cable. This version of the celebrated design classic spends an optimal direct and partly scattered light.
Artemide Tolomeo Mega Parete is also available in a version with black structure and black shade. See further information within the product family.
The Tolemeo was first presented to the public in 1987 on occasion of the famous light fair "Euroluce" in Italy and received an instant success. This success was confirmed again in 1989, when the two designers were awarded the Compasso d'Oro. To this day this lamp is a best-seller that is continuously developed and is available in a growing number of versions.
