The Artemide Nur lights were designed by Ernesto Gismondi and awarded with the Red Dot Design Award in 2004.
The collection includes several suspensions and ceiling lamps, whether for traditional, exchangeable lamps or equipped with fixed LEDs. The standard Nur light has a grey surface, Nur Gloss is available in shiny white or black. The Nur Accoustic suspension is a special version, made of a special synthetics which has sound-absorbing properties, ideally suited for large public rooms, restaurants and hotel lobbies.
The Nur lights' shade is made of aluminium or synthetics and has a distinctive, tall bell-shape. The suspensions' diffusers are closed by a cover of borosilicate glass. The light shines mostly downwards, some of it illuminating upwards and the room. The ceiling lamps' ceiling roses are illuminated by a small amount of light, creating a decorative light crown onto the ceiling.
Nur provides direct lighting for illuminating dining tables and seatting corners. The indirect light ensures a pleasant back illumination. Nur is ideal for comfortable rooms, cafes and more. The shade's remarkable shape adapts in modern and classic interiors and, depending on the surface of the selected version, sets an industrial retro accent or a highly modern note.
