Cabildo by Artemide, designed by Eric Solé, appeals with a remarkably aesthetic shape. While the original version was meant for halogen lamps, it is now available with embedded LED lamps providing a distinctive natural colour and a cozy, warm white light.
The collection comprises a LED floor lamp, a LED wall lamp and a LED suspension, each equipped with the same elegant reflector and optionally with 2700K or 3000K lamps.
Cabildo is made of white lacquered aluminium. The wall and floor lamps' oval shades rest on simple structures in matching white, and the suspension hangs from the ceiling rose on two discreet cables. The shade is striking because of its unusual ring form. Like for the Moebius ring, the light's edges are turned back and form a surprisingly complex, curved shape, enhanced by the emitted light.
The LEDs are integrated into the ring's thick lower part and direct the light upwards, illuminating the ring's inside, and reflecting the surroundings. The result is bewitching indirect and diffuse lighting.
Cabildo's light is warm white, dimmable and glare-free. A gentle light crown complements the general lighting effect with a decorative touch. Because of its futuristic design, Cabildo LED is suitable for a modern life style uniting light and art. Providing both a pleasant lighting ambiance or prestigious illumination, Cabildo is striking and elegantly restrained, a magical eye-catcher at home and in public spaces.
Cabildo was awarded the Good Design Award by the Chicago Athenaeum in 2008.
