The elegant object Multibook by Rotaliana with its book-design is a multifunctional lamp to use anywhere: at home; on a table or desk; as a bedside lamp; in the office, while travelling ... It won't be fooling anyone into thinking it's just a book. It's a box... in a way. But it's also a lamp. And an alarm clock. And a calendar. And an outlet extension. It is a technical object with a familiar face. A band of 74 white LEDs ring the book along its three "page" sides that are made up of opal polycarbonate, allowing it to act as a lamp and spends a gentle, diffused light. Inside there is a 3-way multisocket. Along the book's spine where a title would go, a standard red 7-segment LED display gives the time and date. And on the front cover, an illuminated square slot provides a spot for a favorite photo, other personal label or it can be turned into a cardholder, so everyone knows which one is yours. Multibook exhibits a coloured polycarbonate structure and features a formal reference and evokes directly an emotional reaction. Whether they end up in drawers, shoe boxes, or bins, the electro-clutter eventually needs to find a home somewhere. Stashing it all out of the way has its advantages, but of course, when it's time to charge the cell phone, move new music to the MP3 player or pull pictures of the camera, there's always a new search for the golden cord. Multibook is a wonderful way to assure that all your small electro toys will no more filling your writing table. You can attach all your little chargers inside and you will have never again a tangle of chargers, adapters and cables. While they're squirreled away in the box, out of sight, up to three of them can also be plugged in and charging their associated cell phones, MP3 players, or other associated gadgetry. You can select from black, white, red and darkblue finishes. The delicate decoration is inspired by medieval illuminated books. An on/off switch is arranged on the spine. It also comes with a 1.500 mm feeder cable with a Schuko plug. The led consumption amounts to 5,3 Watt, the maximum output 1.000W.
