Standard lamps

The light of the conventional incandescent lamp, which celebrated its 130th anniversary in 2009, is produced by heating a coiled tungsten inside the bulb. As during this process energy is mainly converted into heat rather than light, the European Union decided to gradually abolish incandescent lamps until 2015 and substitute them by energy saving lamps. Among these standard or all purpose lamps are pear or candle bulbs, reflector or globe lamps, as well as many special shapes.
