LUMINA began with an idea of Tommaso Cimini who designed the halogen table lamp 'Daphine' in a basement in 1973.Thanks to its success he was shortly after able to found LUMINA ITALIA, with the intention to design and produce light fixtures that should be kept to the essential.During the following years Cimini designed more LUMINA lights, like 'Elle' with her significant grid and tempered glass diffusor.
In Cimini's designs prior attention has always been given to functionality and originality.
From the collaboration with young designers originated modern classics such as the suspension lamp 'Juri' by Lorenzo Stano, the floor lamp 'Zeta' by Giuseppe Linardi or the table lamp 'Zelig' by Walter Monici.LUMINA lights have helped to promote the excellence of Italian taste and style in the world.  All the products are from materials bought exclusively from Italian suppliers and assembled at the LUMINA factory in Arluno, Italy, thus promoting the “Made in Italy” label.
80 percent of the production is then exported.For more than thirty years, LUMINA lights have been known and appreciated worldwide as high quality light fixtures for residential use.
By employing new illuminants with reduced energy consumption, LUMINA lights are more and more used in public areas such as restaurants and hotels.
