More about the brand Lumina

Founded in 1975, Lumina is the epitome of exceptional design, characterized by visually minimalist design that is in harmony with the effect created by the light.

In the early 1970s, Tommaso Cimini was involved in the development of transformers, which became the basis of his first lighting creation. In 1973, the minimalist table lamp Daphine was created based on his design, which laid the foundation for the history of Lumina Italia. After Cimini presented his work at the Fiera Campionaria trade fair in Milan in 1974, Lumina Italia was founded. Since then, the company's principles have included simple design, durability and the use of reliable materials of first-class quality.

In addition to Cimini, other well-known and visionary designers have also influenced the designs of Lumina lamps since the beginning of production. This includes, among others, Emanuele Ricci, who designed the Lumina Galileo. Shortly after relocating to Alurno near Milan, branches in Switzerland and Germany followed. Tommaso Cimini's sons Ettore and Andrea eventually took over the management of the company, and they adapted Lumina to the use of modern technologies.

The fascination for minimalism, simplicity of form and convincing functionality is very well received, which is why many of the Italian lighting manufacturer's designs have been honored with international awards. These include the Best of Category Award Lightfair International and the Design Plus Award.
