Artemide Tizio X30 table lamp
The big table lamp Tizio X30 designed in the seventies with counterbalanced arms and head from mirror-polished metal is a classic of design.
The table lamp Tizio X30 by Artemide is assuredly the most famous design made by this designer from Munich, Germany. The elegant and pure appearance of this slender lamp is not all you get. This table lamp made history because it was the very first using a low-voltage-halogen technique. The innovation is contained in the exquisite basic concept: a transformator installed in the base of the lamp which transform the tension from 230V into 12V feeds a halogen lamp through little sticks and red buttons located on the three joints. This lamp has not only a structural function, it also serves as current conductor so that cables are not needed. The arms that are equipped with counterweights stay balanced in nearly every position and can be besides easily adjusted. Moreover, the little square head of the lamp can be tilted in order to direct any time a dazzle-free, direct and focused light where it is needed. The lamp can be operated with the help of the red switch on the heavy transformator case. This version of the design classic is produced in limited edition and wears the signature of the designer. Only Tizio X30 is produced in numbered edition with a base from polished aluminium and rods in shiny anodized aluminium. With the aid of an aluminuim column delivered on request, you can make your table lamp into a floor and reading lamp. Today Tizio is exhibited in numerous museum in the whole world and was rewarded with many prizes.
